S4Sports4SDGs

GYF provides an inclusive global sporting platform to enable collaborations between likeminded higher learning institutions, organisations, companies, communities and individuals; using the 17 sports to develop and advocate for a project to address each of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. Using each of the sports as a tool to mobilize resources to implement the project.

The initiative ensures every sport has the opportunity of being included and that anyone passionate about any sport and a particular SDG can contribute towards the UN Sustainable Development agenda.

Utilising the Moulding4Work students and their Passion Project, GYF can lead in the initialisation and delivery of any Project or Programme in this area.

F4PFootball4Peace

This is specifically to address the UN Sustainable Development Goal 16 (Peace Justice and Strong Institutions). Football4Peace involves an annual tournament comprising of 34 teams (10 players per team of both gender) drawn from the higher learning institutions and local communities in Kenya, each team playing for the SDG of their choice, all advocating for peaceful coexistence.

The tournament is hosted in the week of the World Football Day, with the tournament draw hosted in April during the ‘International Day of Sports For Peace and Development’ each year.

Each team taking part in the tournament undertakes a peacebuilding challenge before the tournament. Through the tournament GYF mobilizes 17 companies, organisations, or individuals to sponsor teams from marginalised communities to be involved.

To emerge the tournament champion, a team not only have to score goals on the field of play but also demonstrate and show they are contributing towards peace building and civic engagement within their communities. During the tournament, the teams learn about their similarities and civic duties and peaceful conflict resolutions methods within the communities. An annual Tournament will unite 510 players from 17 Counties every year. Click Here to enter a team for the Inter - County Football for the Goals Championship 2025

AArchery4TheGoals

Utilising archery as an individual sport, Archery4TheGoals utilizes all year-round Archery activities and sessions to provide practical Goal Setting skills to the young people across all the learning institutions in Kenya. The programme helps the young people to learn about the UN Sustainable Development Goals and align their passions to reflect them while innovating solutions to the local community problems.

Inter – County Archery Championship League

GYF is working to establish 47 Archery Clubs and ranges across Kenya (One Archery Range per County), this initiative will mobilize each Club to send teams (5 Archers per team) to compete at an annual archery tournament held during August each year on the UN International Youth Day.

To emerge the tournament champion, a team not only has to score points on the archery range but also demonstrate and show their project is contributing towards Poverty eradication in the community.

By establishing 17 Archery Clubs across Kenya employing 4 Young per Archery Centre will eradicate poverty in 188 homes in Kenya. Click Here to book a session (Currently in Mombasa County at Burhani Sports Club with sessions running on Fridays 3 - 7 pm EAT.
